Technically, ERAS doesn't require it. But your headshot is the first thing program directors see. A polished, professional photo signals that you take this seriously and helps them remember you when you walk into the interview. A selfie or DIY photo does the opposite.

Yes, a natural, warm smile. This isn't a passport photo. You want to look friendly and approachable, like someone patients would trust.

No. Save it for after you match. Program directors want to see the person behind the credentials, not the credentials themselves. Stick to what you'd wear to a formal interview.

Totally fine. I'll adjust the lighting to minimize glare. If you have multiple pairs, bring them all — some frames and lens coatings reflect less light than others, and we won't know until we test them on camera. If you sometimes wear contacts, bring those too and we'll see what looks best.

Absolutely. I'll provide additional crops optimized for LinkedIn and other platforms at no extra charge.

Plan for about an hour. Most students are done in under 45 minutes, but having extra time means we never feel rushed. You'll try different angles and expressions until we nail it.
