Why Choose Headshots with Marie for Your Headshots?

My studio is my home

My Gilbert headshot studio is in my home. It’s a very relaxed environment; you may even meet my dog! I have a self-contained changing room for those unlimited outfit changes. Want to take a break for a coffee, let’s do that…my kitchen is right here! Espresso? French Press? I know how to make a good cup of coffee!

See your photos live

My camera is connected to a screen so you can see what is happening, as it is happening. We can make changes and modifications to your headshots and portraits as we see fit. We work together. I’m guiding you, and you’re guiding me. It’s a partnership to deliver beautiful, impactful, purposeful headshots you can be proud of!

You get what you pay for

Pay for the session and then the shots you choose. If you only want a handful of poses, that’s what you get. If you need 20 or 30 shots for your website, then we will work together to create those. My goal is your happiness. With everything in life, you get what you pay for, but with Headshots with Marie you will get to see what you’ll get in advance. So many of my clients come in with something in mind but leave with so much more.

Frequently Asked Questions

DO NOT DELETE
CAN I CHOOSE MY BACKDROP?

Yes! From pure white to black, or you can pick your backdrop from our selection. If you want a particular color for your brand, we can order it in advance at an extra cost.

MY PRINTER ASKED FOR A 300 DPI FILE, CAN I HAVE THAT?

We’ll give you your files in 2 resolutions:

  • One in high resolution (300 DPI), optimal for printing up to 8″x10″.
  • One in low resolution, a light file perfect for sharing on your social media post, or on your website.
DO YOU ASK FOR ROYALTIES?

We don’t ask for royalties for self-promotion and personal use of our photographs. You can print and reproduce unlimited copies, for use on materials including flyers, business cards, websites, and email.

WHAT CROP RATIO DO YOU USE?

Our headshots and portraits are 8×10. We can extend the background to make full-width header photos for website pages or LinkedIn banners at no extra cost. If you have a specific need or size, we are happy to talk with your printer or website designer.

WHEN WILL I GET MY PHOTOS?

Tout de suite! Okay, that’s a little French exaggeration, but you will select the shots you want to buy immediately at the end of the shoot. We will go through them together. Then you’ll have your final fully edited digital photo files within seven days.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND TO MY SESSION?

Absolutely! Children should be accompanied by an adult. We encourage you to bring someone special to share this experience. Trusted ones are especially helpful when it’s time to pick your portraits. For brand photography shoots, if you want to bring a client (or a friend posing as a client) to include in your portraits for some interaction, please feel free to do so.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PORTRAITS & HEADSHOTS?

Headshots are typically taken with you looking directly into the camera, often showing your head and shoulders only. The emphasis is on your face, your unique expression. Portraits tend to be more candid. You may still be looking at the camera, but it may be a full body shot, or you could be interacting with an object (computer, phone, newspaper) or a client, friend, or colleague. For example, a brand photography shoot may include a mix of headshots for an About You page, as well as more candid, fun portrait images for use on the rest of your website.
